The reason for applying McGregors Theory X wasn’t because the team individuals were insufficient, but because they appeared to respond better at being provided direction possibly because they were culturally familiar with authoritarian leadership. For future projects it is important not to immediately use authoritarian leadership, as it is important to allow individuals equal opportunity. However, it is important to consider that individuals, depending on their culture’s power distance, will respond differently to the opportunity to work independently. Therefore international managers need to be open minded to those individuals and be prepared to support them if they are unsure about their responsibilities.
Crosta and McConnell (2010) state that Tuckman implies that teams cannot reach the norming step before overcoming the storming stage. Abudi (2016) supports this stating that team members will deliver different ideas causing group conflict. However, I found this contradicted with my experience with this team. There was significantly low contribution from individuals on how the project will be completed, which caused the team leader to feel that members were unreliable. Hofstede (1980) found that India and China have a high power distance dimension, therefore decisions by others, especially the team leader, are not challenged.
Additionally, Commisceo Global (2017a and b) found that China and India individuals culturally value maintaining respect for others as well as themselves. Therefore individuals from China and India would aim to avoid conflict, and prevent this by restricting their involvement in group discussions. Team participation from all members is important, however as Phatak et al (2005) mentions, managers need to understand diverse cultural values. Therefore, for future projects I will follow Comfort and Franklin’s (2014) suggestion about being transparent when communicating with the team. This includes speaking individually to members and asking them specific questions about a particular part of the project they have the most to deliver upon. I believe this will ensure all members can participate without having to think entirely by themselves if they aren’t conformable with that approach.
The process of delivering feedback to employees is an essential job role of managers (Molinsky, 2013), however individuals cultural backgrounds makes the whole process complex when dealing with individual feedback. While I am able to provide feedback to others on projects process, I have drawbacks on knowing how to communicate individual feedback to individuals from culturally collective backgrounds. Similarly, I have weaknesses regarding responding to conflict effectively before it increases and how to approach multicultural team conflict. Therefore I have created an action plan (See Appendix 1) to overcome these barriers, in order to obtain the required skills for an effective international business manager.

Introduction
According to Clemm (2007), network management is an important component of for successfully operating network that can support and keep businesses running. An effective network management system ensures that networks are properly smoothly operating and this enables organizations to keep their network costs and operational costs under control. Clemm (2007) also argues that an effective network management ensures that networking equipment is effectively deployed to increase the quality of network services needed in the organization. Ineffective network management can result in continuous disruption of network services, increased cost of doing business, and poor investment made in the business.
Network Management System is a system that executives applications that monitor and control managed devices by providing the bulk of processing and memory resources. Proper network management is a critical component for network administrators, that help to improve the functionality of the entire network systems. On the other hand, network management protocols are those systems that facilitate the exchange of management information between the network management systems and managed devices such as RMON, MIB, and SNMP (Bejtlich, 2013). SNMP, the standard for network management solutions, has a close connection with the Management Information Base (MIB) and remote monitoring (RMON).
RMON and RMON probes
RMON is a portion of MIB database that provides support for proactive management of LAN traffic and allows the packet, and traffic patterns on LAN segments to be monitored by tracking the number of packets, packet sizes, broadcasts, network utilization, Ethernet collisions, and statistic hosts. According to Bejtlich (2013), RMON can also be described as the remote network monitoring devices that exists functions of managing and monitoring the network, often called monitors or probes. In most cases, these monitors and remote probes used for managing networks are standalone devices. RMON is associated with features such as historical views of RMON statistics based on the user defined sample intervals, packet capture based on user defined filters, and alarms that are based on user-defined thresholds.
The RMON probe, also known as the RMON agent, is a device that comprises of the hardware or software that is embedded in the router or a switch to support network management. According to Clemm (2007), probes are used to gather and store different types of data generated by routers in the network system and these data are used by the network administrators to monitor and improve their network administration. RMON agent can also be independent software installed in the standard operating systems such as Linux or Windows to communicate across the network by the use of Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP). While capturing or monitoring the data packets, a good RMON probe should not impact the network flow, but instead should allow for more efficiency in the network system. RMON probes use three main methods of capturing data, namely; RMON support in the switch (requires dedicated RMON probe), in-line network tapping, and port monitoring (requires dedicated RMON probe) (Bejtlich, 2013).
RMON agents can easily reside in routers, servers, hubs, switches, hosts, and other dedicated RMON probes, where they collect large volumes of data used for network administration. According to Clemm (2007) dedicated RMON probes are used in routers and switches instead of enabling RMON agents of such devices, since RMON can easily collect large volumes of data that are necessary in network administration. In this case, the management traffic can easily be reduced by setting and reporting on the performance threshold whenever the threshold is breached. A single organization can opt to employ the use of several devices to manage their networks, even up to one per network. RMON probe functions may be embedded in the network switches (that operate in physical and link level) to provide full or partial support to the RMON groups in the course of network management by the system administrators.
Goals of RMON
In network administration, there are certain conditions such that the management station is not in direct contact with its remote sensing devices in an attempt to lower the communications. In such a situation, RMON allows a probe to be configured to perform diagnostics and continually collect statistics even when a proper communication with the management station is not possible. Therefore, the probe has the capability of notifying the management station in an exceptional condition by efficiently supplying configured information to the management station. Another goal of RMON is to carry out proactive monitoring by using the resources available in the on the monitor to run continuous diagnostics that keep the network running in the most effective and cost efficient manner. RMON monitor is always available at the onset of any failure and can easily notify the management station of such failure in addition to storing historical statistical information concerning such failures. In an attempt to perform further diagnostics, such historical information is important since they can be played back by the system administrators in performing further diagnostics directed at improving the performance of the network systems. In addition, RMON monitors can be configured to recognize conditions with the aim of detecting problems and promptly report such problems to the management. Remove network administration device can effectively be used to add significant value to the data collected since its directly located on the monitored section of the network. As such, the probe can easily provide the management station with the necessary information needed to solve a class of problems by highlighting those hosts on the network that generate most errors or traffic. RMON can also be used with the goal of supporting multiple management stations, such as engineering and operations, in an attempt to enhance disaster recovery. In this arrangement, remote network monitoring devices can effectively be used to serve more than one management station by without utilizing additional resources.
Conclusion
RMON has been used to check the device network performance from the use of MIB results into a large amount of bandwidth required for the management of traffic. The use of RMON is beneficial in the sense that the managed device, through its RMON agents, collects and stores the data that would otherwise be frequently retrieved from the MIB. Another benefit of RMON is that it provides effective network fault diagnosis, effective planning for network upgrades, and performance tuning (Lemoncelli, 2001). Caution should be taken when using RMON to avoid problems since RMON agents must look at each frame within their network. RMON capabilities have developed over the years from a mere promiscuous capture of pockets on a network segment to a framework that allows multiple techniques of data gathering.
